Friday, December 21, 2007 - LightStruck Hollyhock Finale

Everything is as it is. It has no name other than the name we give it. It is we who call it something; we give it a value. We say this thing is good or it's bad, but in itself, the thing is only as it is. It's not absolute; it's just as it is. People are just as they are.--- Ajahn Sumedho

Sometimes it's hard to remember this. To live it.
And sometimes it's easy and things are so funny because none of it means that much in the long long long run!

Enough philosophy - on to my LightStruck Hollyhocks - more glazing and 2 pics = it's done (unless you see something that needs more work).

Excellent hollyhocks, Rhonda. This was a good trio for flowers, and hollyhocks a great choice for a reference. Are you going to continue with these 3-color exercises?

All right! You did it! And, without losing those convincing lights. Wow. This is a beauty, well-rendered and executed with your three colors. I'm loving this one....I am also hoping this is 5x7 and suitable for a SWAP painting?

Thank you all SO MUCH for those comments! Makes a girl blush - and I think that matches the Rhodonite Genuine :) hee-hee
Michelle, yes, I think I will just keep picking until I have no more colors to choose from. Afterall, the hat is still pretty full of choices!
Susan, why it is a good size for a SWAP, why do you ask? hee-hee
I'm definitely going to put the Rhodonite on my palettes now for use - it's too pretty to keep it locked away in my artroom.

TT-hee right back at you...why do you think I asked about the SWAP size? But, then I remembered I already was the recipient of a lovely canyon painting by you in the SWAP so there are probably rules about not receiving from the same person in the swaps, so I guess my ship has already come in with your paintings. But, this would make a wonderful swap painting, huh?

Susan, sometimes you get matched up with the same person again, especially when you've been in the group as long as we have - so keep those fingers crossed :)
