Did this painting of my artist friend, Mohan. We never met face-to-face but just talked via emails. You never know how you are going to touch someone's life by any number of little things you do. I didn't do him justice with this portrait but I think I got close...

Rhonda,
I would have recognized Mohan from this painting even if you had not said you would be working on it. It is a lovely tribute to his serenity.
A small nitpick would be to model his eyeballs a bit on the sides so they don't look quite so intent and flat/white. This is where I start to panic when I try portraits so you may want to ignore this suggestion from me, but that is the only area bothering me aobut your portrait. I like the glow you left on the cheek and chin that is not under the cap shadow.
Nice job!
Susan
Thanks, Susan. Eyes do give me fits and I need to just work on eyes until I can get them right. If a portrait comes apart on me, it's usually with overworking the eyes and not getting them right. I appreciate your feedback!
