START AGAIN - CHERRIES CHAIR AND TULIPS

Here's the 2nd one I started over after the previous fail.  Half sheet (15 x 22") Arches 300# coldpress paper.

This is more like the colored sketch I did.

But...I am not getting a good pattern or enough visual interest in my recent paintings - plus I am cutting them in half almost all the time (need to break that habit).  So...time to take a break and rethink how I want to go on with this...

Rhonda - I think this is looking good friend. Love the cherries they really catch the eye. Take care and have a delightful day. Hugs!

Maybe the darker blue are on the left could curve into the lighter side at the top echoing the beautiful curve of the chair and tulip stems fading as it goes? Or the pattern continuing into the lighter area? If you have some finer handmade paper you could add a little in for added texture as watercolour can react and dry in mysterious ways...just an idea, I find it helps me to link areas together sometimes...

The colours and tones are working really well and there is a great sense of depth. I feel like I am standing at a window and peeking in. I'm loving this series so much and wait for the next post with anticipation as you are so full of surprises. Best wishes.

Thanks, Debbie and Lisa (good ideas!!). I guess the ones that don't work out 100% are still works in progress and I can always do something more :)

does worker bigger help with not cutting things in half? or does that make the problem worse? and it is really only a problem if you think it is or tell people you do it ;)
