Well, I decided there were just too many cool tones here - yes, I love them all but cools need a little warm to break the monotony, I think. So I began putting the warms in the lotus. This is where is stands right now. I've still got Deb's idea of collage pieces between the "lines" and may do that...
Of course, I'm now painting some small give-aways so that has to take priority for a while :) And still working on a portrait that is challenging me but I will not admit defeat!

This is really looking beautiful Rhonda! I love that warm, glowy yellow!
Thanks, Angela! Your latest painting is gorgeous!!! I'm glad you posted - somehow along the way you were dropped from my sidebar - I make changes a lot and it wasn't intentional, just an error somehow. So glad you're back :)
This painting has beautiful color...I just love it - especially the greens.
Just love the colors, very complimentary, angela is right glowy is the word. I love glowy!:)
Thanks so much, Barb and Cathy :) I'm glad you like it - it was definitely a process to get the colors where they are now and I wasn't sure it didn't look too disjointed. Glad it's okay and I like glowing, too :)
Am enjoying seeing Stranded and Lotus progression. Beautiful cleaer fresh colours. Lucky girl going to the Taft Museum show.
Thanks so much, Joan. I am lucky to be so close to 2 wonderful museums with ever-changing exhibits.
Looks close to done to me, Rhonda. I'm not sure about collage on there, I'd vote for just making some edges different. (Have you ever seen some of the older florals done by Mira M. White?)
Nick, may Santa bring you extra goodies for turning me on to this artist, Mira M. White! She is doing such outstanding work - and her later florals just make my heart sing!!! WOW! Plenty of her paintings to view, study, and try to get close to. I think what makes this one not what I "want" is it's too "pretty" for me. I want power, not pretty. So...must dig deep and get there somehow.
I love the shapes and colors, and the variation of colors within the shapes. Really gorgeous!
Rhonda,
I really love all your greens and blues...I always prefer cool colors:-)
I would love this painting as is, but I am really looking forward to seeing how you will add the "power" you are after.
I always love your work and how you always push the limits a bit more.
Christiane
Thanks, Laura and Christiane :) I'm not sure how I'm going to push the power on this, Christiane, but I'll give it some days to think about it...there is something I want to do to make it look finished to me - which it doesn't look right now to me. Not sure what...bolder color? Darker softer darks all around everything but the central flower? Hmmm....
Rhonda, I love your palette here, vibrant and very well balanced with a great sense of light and contrast.
Thank you, Fabio! I am so pleased you stopped by and commented :)
