MANGROVES IN AUTUMN COLORS

The bright colors of the mangrove leaves are always interesting and tempting to paint.  I started this one on my hotpress to get the colors to bleed and run and mingle.

(Not sure why the background looks violet because it's not - it's white paper:  Stonehenge Aqua hotpress paper, 10 x 14, 140#.)

very vibrant :)

the purple might be a reflection from the red, white balance off on camera, or the camera just doesn't like photos with red in them :p joys of technology lol

It was hard to look at the background because those leaves are just so gorgeous, Rhonda!
Yes, I have the same problems with photographing backgrounds... Can't figure that stuff out either.

Thanks, Jennifer and Chris :). I always try to get the colors right (compared to how I see them) with the photos but sometimes I just can’t get an exact match when it’s reds and purples - different cameras so I think it’s just the color that doesn’t come through well. But the leaves are correct so I’m okay with the violet background for this.
