Another crow painting. Calling this one A Difference of Opinion. It's 21" x 21" on Arches 140# watercolor paper.
Started with a pale wash of Cobalt Turquoise mixed with Cobalt Blue towards the bottom. Then splattered some Bismuth Yellow and water at the bottom to look like grasses. I masked off some areas on the crows that will be violet, turquoise green and blue later.

Whoah, this one stopped me in my tracks. I like it a lot and I simply cannot believe the artistic growth you have experience in the short time I have known you. Wow!
Coming along nicely, Rhonda. I hope that's last years beach photo and not one you took recently. I'd be jealous of all that warm weather.
Looking good, Rhonda! I like the colors you have used in the background.
Looking very good, Rhonda. I like the simplistic look which is not always easy to achieve.
Thanks so much, Mary Beth!
Thanks, Carol. That is me just last week on the beach :) Warm weather, sunshine, lovely beaches - not much not to envy there and not sure why we don't just move there! ha ha
Thanks, Christiane! I like that pale blue-green, too.
Thanks, Ann. No, not easy to not go overboard so I'm going to try to leave that bottom the way it is and just focus on the crows now.
Rhonda, I love the grass effect..and the colours...wow! Wish you were participating on our 100 washes challenge (lol)......
Maggie, that is such a compliment, considering the artists in that group!! Maybe when you do another?? Unfortunately, I couldn't leave well enough alone (do I ever?) and it doesn't look the same but I think it's still okay - just thought the bottom was a bit pale compared to how dark the crows will be...we'll see with the next posting if I went too far or just right :)
Judging by the fellow in the foreground, this one is going to turn out fabulous.
Thank you so much, Asit. I hope you are right!
More crows, yay! I like the composition of this one Rhonda, balanced, straight to the point, nice textures in that background too, am waiting for the next step already :D
ooooh, I like this one a lot and look forward to seeing it in its next step.
Thanks, Teresa and Carol. Hope I don't disappoint!
This one is looking really good!
Thanks, Vicki!
