Her Blue Dress

This photo looked to me like a woman (with a decidedly large nose) in a pink dress. (Photo by Jerry). I thought I might try it, but change the colors. So I did. Now it's Her Blue Dress.

I started the painting on Wednesday while doing 2 loads of laundry. I'm building up the colors - perhaps too much granulation in the darker blues? - wet-in-wet and remembering not to prewet and paint petals opposite each other and then be amazed when the color runs across the middle! D'uh!

I may finish it by tomorrow.

You are so creative. I really enjoy the fact that you are always trying something new. The blues are beautiful in your painting.

Remarkably strong and very O'Keefe-like. Don't overdo it tomorrow!

I'm loving this series of close up flowers - you are on a roll! Frame one and put it in the show (hint, hint)

Hi Rhonda, You are really getting into the close-ups. Good for you. They are challenging, something with the cropping of them, it has to be just right, but I always love them. Your colors are lush.

That lower petal looks like a dress indeed, delicious photo Rhonda! I'm loving the painting so far, you'll add it to the blues series?

Thanks so much for the comments, Vicki, Cathy, Teresa.
Suzanne, hope I don't overdo! Like OKeefe, I married a photographer - unfortunately, he doesn't have a famous gallery in which to show off my work! ha ha
Deb, since we are going to be travelling, I won't have the time or cash to mat and frame any of these latest ones but I know this year's show will be amazing.
