MARIAN'S BIRTHDAY PARTY + CLASS

Marian's birthday is actually next week but we surprised her with a party on Tuesday during Sandy's class. Purple was the theme and she got 2 cakes and lots of good food was provided by the artists in the class. I think we surprised her and she wore her boa and hat (provided by Karen) all day, even though she was shedding some feathers on her painting as she worked on it :)

Here are a few snaps taken to commemorate the day.

Kathy, Sandy, Marian, Ritzy, Karen and Bonnie. Linda came later so missed the group photo, and I was taking the photo so I'm not in the group photo, either. I did wear a purple wig for the occasion and everyone thought, at first, that I'd dyed my hair that color!!! I guess they think/know I'm crazy!

Two cakes but we didn't make her blow out the candles on both at the same time!

And here is what I worked on during the day...the portrait of my grandmother and the gladiolus...still needs tweaking as I see some places that do not look right (like that one flower trying to climb into her left ear!), and it looks bright here than IRL.

Love how the painting is coming along Rhonda and I really love the theme colour for the party!!! Though, I think we'd all love to see you in a purple wig.

It sure looks like you have a great group of ladies to paint with. Happy Belated Birthday Marian!

Thanks, Deb. I'm going to give this one to my sister when it's finished. Ah, the purple wig...you'll just have to imagine as the photo wasn't very flattering (I think I had one eye open, one closed, and a goofy grin! haha).
Vicki, they are a bunch of fun and talented ladies. I'd love to have the spirit and energy Marian has when I'm 54!
