COOL DOWN AND POSTCARD PAINTINGS

Well, we finally got a break in the temperature here.  It was only 75F this morning and it felt great!  I hope this break is the end of the 100F temperatures for the summer, but I know that August is usually our worst and hottest month.  Of course, with Mother Nature throwing everyone curve balls, we may have snow by then!

I needed to get off the sofa and do something creative but didn't have anything in mind or anything that I wanted to work on.  That's when the small 4" x 6" postcards come in handy.  So I did 2 of those - which means I'll all ready for my August mailing :)

That's the Holbein Shadow Violet in the upper background - love how it granulates and shows 3 different colors coming through.

I hope you have a creative and fun week, wherever you are!

Ahhh, do you need a vacation from the vacation Rhonda? I know that happens. Was wondering if your Caw Girl series has flown the coop. Your jester caw girl was coming out wonderfully. I was actually inspired to start painting again by a crow I saw eating some watermelon along the roadside. Can never be as good as yours but it's worked to get me painting again. Glad you have some cooler weather. Our AC is blasting today.

Hi, Rhonda,
Please be kind to yourself. If we're flat out, nothing comes across our mind. I'm happy to await happy Rhonda come up! Take it easy.
Cheers, Sadami

No creativity here. I've been feeling much more motivated and then hit the skids yesterday when something happened having to do with my student loans and Sallie Mae. They say I am three months behind and yet they cashed my check. Of course, I have to prove it. Which I've attempted to do by sending them via fax a copy of said check. Of course, I haven't heard anything from them. No wonder there is so much trouble with government finances. Shot my whole mood right into the toilet.

Love that you did more postcards while feel less than energized. Was 75 here yesterday a.m. too. Came out of work and it was once again 96. Miserable. Maybe I should move to the Canadian or Alaskan wilds.

I find grandulating color so interesting. Moonglow (DS) is another neat one.

Nice postcards, Rhonda. Here in VA we've just dropped to 89 from a week of 100+. Luckily, my area was not hit with power outages.

Carol, after the vacation, Sweetie's sister came to visit and we drove to Chicago and visited there and then home and Sweetie's sister stayed another few days and all the running and visiting and stuff has really thrown me off my schedule. I seem to know what I need to do - but am suffering from serious procrastination for some reason! Can't wait to see your crow and watermelon (2 of my favorite things!!)

Sadami, I'm trying - in fact, I may be having too much kindness right now - sitting around eating chocolates and watching British mysteries! haha

Sherry, I think I get stumped in summer - too much else going on and you can't settle in and really plan and feel creative!

Vicki, Moonglow is in my bag of tricks, too - lovely color.

Kathryn, glad summer has finally reached you, too - hope it doesn't heat up too much!

Thanks, Hallie. So many of us were hit with such heat - ugh!! I'll take 85F for summer but not 100F!!

Thanks so much, Debbie! Hope you are keeping cool, too :)

Carol, the Caw Girl series is in a holding pattern. Maybe it's because our crows disappeared from our area for months. Now I am hearing them again - perhaps young ones? I even saw 3 fly by the other day, hounded by smaller birds. I think these crows are young ones...maybe they will inspire me to start again.
