I finished the 5th in the series of these Shaker Village kitchen things - whew!!! Do I have 1 more left in me???

I still need to do a rich, dark, mixed color background but I didn't feel like getting into that in class so I worked on my little levitating lamb - who no longer levitates.
I think I need to make his eyes a bit darker and call this one done. And, yep, I did all this from 10-2 today (when you're on a roll, go with it!). I also did one more that needs a bit of tweaking before it's done (on tyvek) and will show that one when it's finished.

I love this Shaker project set-up. It has such charm, but a little contemporary geometry sneaks in there on this one. The lamb looks better firmly grounded now. On to the magnolia! Rhonda, you have done such a wonderful job of getting that soft glow in there but with such richness, just perfect. What color are you thinking of for the background? What about doing a wet in wet vignette style background with the darkest color around the white petals and have it fading out to white? I keep looking at this flower and wondering what colors I would choose for its background if I was painting it. I think I would be tempted to stay delicate and not do the entire background, but that is just me. Like I said, the blossom itself is just gorgeous.

Well, the undersea green was not as bad as I thought it was going to be - it looks greenish black right out of the tube but you can lighten it with water very nicely.
Hi Rhonda, great job on grounding the lamb! And your magnolia - beautiful! The background you're planning will make it pop. The shaker project painting is so intriguing. I like this one very much. (Undersea green is one of my favourite colours and one I couldn't be without. I hope you like it.)
