EGRET IN THE MARSHES

I started with a half sheet Arches 140# coldpress, drew the egret towards the middle and then put down some faint lines to represent the sections of the background stuff and water.

There is more to come as I try to keep the egret white until the end, when I'll warm her up a bit.

nice background colours :) any reason you dont use masking fluid on the bird? tearing issues?

Thanks, Chris :)

Jennifer Rose, thanks. I just don't like the hard edges left with masking fluid although I use it sometimes. Just didn't think about it and wanted to work around the bird and let some of the color bleed into the edges on this one.

Debbie, thanks!!!

Alice Jo, I like that description :)

I dont like the hard edges either, and the possible tearing of the paper can be a problem. I'd rather use frisket film, but kinda hard to find here and can be a pita to cut out sometimes
