PRESENT NO. 4

Another present all wrapped and too pretty to open :)  Using light layers of Cobalt Blue for the ribbon and Naples Yellow for the box.

A bit of Pyrrol Red and Bismuth Yellow for the ornament.  All done wet-in-wet to keep things flowing.  I'm happy with it as it is.

Again, 8" x 10" on Fabriano 140# hot press watercolor paper.

Um, Teresa, that would be BLUE! ha ha

Deb, since I started on these late, maybe a bunch of holiday cards for next year...maybe.

Bright and inviting--another lovely present!

All of these (well, maybe except for that one you flubbed, washed off and used acrylics on) have been so pretty and festive! Even the flubbed one turned out well after reworking it. I think I prefer the ones with the white background the best, the presents are the center of focus and they deserve it!

Laura, Thanks!

Susan, you always tell it like it is - that reworked one was a pain but I think the first one is my favorite so far. A few more to do, I think, and maybe play with some different colors.

Caroline, thanks for stopping by and commenting. I have to get over to your blog to check out your work, too!

Thanks so much, Christiane, Carol and Jane!!

If you want to see some really beautifully painted wrapped presents check out Karen Appleton's work (I just found her through another blog visit) - she's been doing nothing but wrapped presents for years!!! I had no idea anyone was that dedicated to the series :)

Thanks, Cynnie. We must have cross-posted because I didn't see your comment when I replied last time :)

Caroline, I owe you an apology. I'm having trouble keeping up with everyone's first names and thought you were a new poster BUT you are not - you are one of my fave artists and I should remember you first name - I'm claiming replies sent before first cup of coffee :)
