I have changed a setting on my blog which warns that there is "Adult Content" here. I think my figure drawings from my life class may offend those who do not want to see the human body even as an art form. I apologize to anyone who was offended by this and there should be a disclaimer before you click on the site that asks if you want to enter or not. It is your choice. There will continue to be figure sketches and works using the human body, both male and female, in my content pages. I put this on after reading another blog where the artist said he could not post the male figure in frontal view. Also, there is some controversy in our town (the Cincinnati tri-state area) over the showing of The Bodies Exhibit in town - which has made me more aware of other viewpoints.
And now to something entirely different...
I wanted to share with you what my wonderful husband did for me - as a surprise birthday present, he had a plaque created to commemorate my winning WatercolorWorkshop Artist of the Year - it was such a fun surprise to open this last weekend. Here is a photo of me and the plaque. Now, I know everyone who has won this award in the past and those who will win in the future will also want one of these. I sure hope their husbands, wives, and/or partners will have one made for them, too :) (Should have combed my hair before this photo was taken!)

you should not apologize for your drawings, good grief! Never apologize doing nothing wrong. Your drawings are wonderful.
The saying goes, why dont people with closed minds come with closed mouths? I could go on but then you would have to dump my comment.

Good for you, Rhonda. Continue to take those life drawing classes. They are so important. Keep posting them. We in the San Francisco area are asking "What's the problem?" Some people don't know what objectionable looks like.
Thanks for clearing that up! I thought....all I got was a paper certificate?! It, truly, speaks very well for your husband...way to go! I was so pleased to receive that paper certificate from Susie, though...what an honor! And, yes, you should have combed your hair, but we love you anyway.

Thanks so much, Dawn and Myrna, for your support on this. I didn't get any complaints made to me and, in fact, Blogger didn't ask me to make the change - but I know that it could be a bit much for someone who may be too young - so I'll just do this without worrying too much about it. I will continue to take the life drawing lessons and figure sessions and yes, I'm going to get my ticket to the Body Exhibit, too :) Myrna, I have to laugh - I've never been to San Francisco except passing through via the airport, but I have an idea what you are talking about! ha-ha
Susan, yep, my hubby is definitely a keeper and the plaque is on my wall in the computer room. But wait - I didn't get a certificate from Susie?!!? ha-ha
Oh great, I am drawing a nude woman this morning...Really, what would have happened if Michaelangelo apologized for his work? It isn't like you are posting nude photos for the sake of posting them. There are indeed artworks that offend others and that is because the artist really meant to be offensive. Keep on drawing, painting and whatever it is that you do so well.

I'm not going to worry about it - I've put a notice at the top of the blog that anyone can read and I don't have to use that offensive warning label. Can't wait to see your drawing :)
Don't apologize, Rhonda! Anyone who would complain about the nudity in your drawings is being very prudish. (They must have major problems when they visit art museums!)
