I heard the doorbell ring and Jerry answered it because I was painting and couldn't stop.

When I came upstairs later, there was a box addressed to me on the sofa.  From Mary Beth Shaw!!!  It was my stencils and Wood Icing!!!

This is just too generous, Mary Beth.  Not just 1 or 2 stencils, but 6, yes, 6 of the large stencils and a big tub of Wood Icing (which is a texture paste).

I know what I'm going to be doing for a while = playing with my new toys!

Thanks so much, Mary Beth!!!  I'm declaring today Mary Beth Shaw Day :)

Take a look at the video Mary Beth created
( to show us how to use the Wood Icing.  She's gone crazy for the stuff and is making all kinds of great textured pieces using the Wood Icing and her very own designed stencils.

You lucky lady! You are going to have so much fun!!! It is indeed generous of Mary Beth, but on the other hand, you will be a great marketing tool for her:-)I am really looking forward to see what you will be creating over the next little while with these great treasures.

I was lucky with this give-away, Christiane!! I'm going to be playing with the new toys very soon.

Carol, they are great and so varied - my faves are the trees and the river rocks. How cool that you ordered a set!! Stay tuned for play time :)

And the best part is, I think some people may be ordering stencils and wood icing from you because of seeing it here :) Kinda like paying it forward? :)

Hi, I was researching mixed media books and found the promo for Mary Beth Shaw's new book. I followed her name to her own blog and now to this one. Count me as one of her new customers too! I plan to order the Wood Icing today. I've looked forever for a product like that! And I love her stencils too! I'm so excited to find her!

Linda, thanks for stopping by and commenting. I've met Mary Beth and she is just as nice as she is talented. I am going to buy her book, too, and those stencils will make many many paintings in the years to come :) I've bookmarked your blog and will return to visit and see some of your art when I have time to spend.
