Going through a beautiful little book about various art styles and saw a painting by a botanical artist, Marie Burke (marieburke-art.com) which inspired me to try it.
(You can see her gorgeous painting in the left/bottom side of the book cover.)
I have never had the patience to be a botanical painter - so precise and small increments of change don’t make me happy - but I am not unhappy about the finished painting (quarter sheet watercolor).
I can see now that I look at it here that I did not get the flowing look of the one in the book, nor did I get the rounded shape in the top edges.

Rhonda your painting is lovely. I enjoy studying botanicals but the precision and perfection of that style of art takes more patience than I am able to have for sure. Hope your Kentucky weather brings you a lovely November. Our autumn due to the dry weather has not been its usual self...the colors more muted although in spots they appear brilliant. Well take care friend and have a special day. Hugs!
This colour scheme gives me Rhonda vibes and I think of you whenever I see it. It looks like a very happy painting. Does the top left one appeal too with the patterns of leaf shapes?
You’re like me, Debbie, you admire the technique but know it’s not for you! Ha ha. November has been good so far, weather-wise, but we’re getting a taste of winter coming Monday, I think. Each year I’d like to postpone it for another month or two, but Mother Nature doesn’t think the same way!
Lisa, I do like that green and pink mix. There are so many really lovely paintings and drawings in this little book, it’s worth going through every now and then just to see something pretty.
