PAPA RED

Papa Red is all puffed up to keep warm on this winter day.

On our drive to Physical Therapy Monday morning, I saw over a dozen in a driveway along the way - so many Cardinals and not sure what they were doing there.

I am jealous of your cardinals, they look such sweet birds. Or is that the way you paint them?

They are amazing birds and I forget how wild they look - we have them all over the area but my SIL came to visit from Utah and was amazed to see one - so many birds are common here that aren’t there but they have some interesting birds, too - I would love to see a indigo bunting but have never seen one around here.

The Cardinals are our brightest with that red male so vivid in the winter months. I read the males molt to get those bright colors in the winter before mating season - apparently the brightest red gets the ladies :)
