Before =
wishy-washy without any oomph due to painting
wet-in-wet and not going back in with darks.
After -
better by adding darks and more visual interest
to the painting overall.
Sometimes, painting wet-in-wet creates some wimpy paintings. Too light and not enough value changes (for me).
Sometimes you need those darks to make the light shine - as in painting, so in life.

the darks really work well, art is mostly about values, well maybe except conceptual art where values and tones dont usually play a part
