CROW CONTINUES - DARKER COLORS

Added some dark colors over the Shadow Violet underpainting, trying to make it still read as "black" but without using black.  Next the background will need some darks here and there.  You cannot change one thing in a painting without changing something else :)

Know how you feel Rhonda, I often find painting is similar to dressmaking! there are constant tiny changes, then you have to go and change something else.... guess that is why we are hooked on making art, we love the challenge. I really like the darks in your crow. A few years ago I bought an excellent book called The Colour mixing Bible by Ian Sidaway. Worth having a look if you have time. I think you would find it interesting.

Another little 'character' I like the way you are capturing the individuals - they are so much more than generic crows. And you know how much I love colourful blacks and greys - The colours are beautiful!

Caroline, I think it means we are seeing better by seeing what needs changed. As for dressmaking, I can barely sew on a missing button! ha ha I will look at that book - thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks, Sadami, Jennifer Rose and Lisa :) I am glad you see his character, Lisa, as that means they aren't all looking alike but have some differences in poses and colors and maybe just the tilt of his or her head makes a difference, too :)
