Here in the U.S., we have a three-day weekend to celebrate Labor Day on Monday. That doesn't make sense to me = we get a day off to celebrate labor?
Labor Day weekend here in the Ohio River Valley means fireworks on the Ohio River, more traffic on the roads, the last cook-out of the summer season, and back to work and life as usual!
Hope you all have a good and safe weekend, and a great week to come...

Love this old photo, Rhonda! I hope you are having a wonderful, and safe, Labor Day weekend!
Happy Labor Day weekend.
I love the photo you chose. I know I've seen it before. it's men working on either a NY or Chicago skyscraper. Brave, non acrophobic men!
I sneaked in another day off work to make it a four day weekend :)
I hope you had a great one!
And interesting to see this photo, as a hundred years ago many of NY's skyscrapers were built by men from Newfoundland and Labrador. They were recruited as they needed people who weren't afraid of heights.

That photo instantly made my palms and feet sweat...heights...eyes squeezed closed.
Dear Rhonda - great photo and I hope you had lots of fun on the last week-end of the summer.
Found the photo online with no name on it - guess it's okay to share because it is amazing! I heard that they used Native Americans (can't remember the tribe but would be a northeast tribe or two) to build these skyscrapers in NY because they, too, were not afraid of heights. Interesting that Jeanette says they used a lot of men from Newfoundland and Labrador, too.
Thanks, Carol. They were a brave bunch!! Notice, no security harnesses or anything!
Jeanette, thanks for that link - will look at it now.
Yes, Sherry, I would not have been able to do that - or go down into a mine.
Thanks, Debbie! You, too.
