BACK FROM DRIER WORLD

Well, you might have noticed I wasn't posting as much or commenting as quickly.  Why?  Because we were taking a pretty long trip away to what the locals like to call Big Sky Country and what I call Drier World.  I swear I could not breathe easily the whole time - not the elevation (in the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone and Mammoth Hot Springs) but the dry air.  I've never experienced such dry air!!!  I'm not sure I could live there - but, of course, the landscape was gorgeous and there will be plenty of photos to come :)

So stay tuned for photos of greysers, sulfur pools, terraced springs, and bison, bear and elk...

Susan, I had no idea how dry it was - the heat was 95F in Salt Lake City and we walked just a few blocks to a farmers' market and I didn't think I was going to make it back!! I could feel my skin drying out and my sinuses drying - I think I'll keep our humidity, thanks!!

Pam, thanks :) Missed you all, too and will have photos soon - am sorting and resizing, etc. - in between laundry and grocery and catching up on emails, etc.

That's quite a beautiful place, did some family vacations out there. Exhilarating! And the new paintings are better all the time, it's nice to see you changing up everything - subject, approach, palette. Go for the roll, lets see some serious w/c acreage!!

Nick, as soon as I get settled, I'll be trying something large - it will be a learning curve, I'm sure, but what the heck - ya gotta do it to learn it! (We both returned without getting trampled and/or chewed on by by bears, bison or elk = a good trip!)
