Big Fireworks on the River

Last night my sweetie and I watched the fireworks on the river on t.v. It's so much better than going down there hours early, finding a spot, being crammed in with thousands of people. So we turned out the lights and enjoyed the spectacle (an annual event here in Cincinnati every Labor Day weekend - the last big bang of summer).

These photos were taken over the July 4th weekend here in our neighborhood. Jerry walked around and got shots of the fireworks many of the neighbors were putting on for the kids. Pretty cool hearts and spirals.

Happy Labor Day!

My new camera has a fireworks setting on it. I would like to try it out on something like this, but like you I prefer to watch fireworks on TV, I'm a party poop! I have been reading about camera settings for shooting fireworks lately so will try the manual approach, also, if presented with the opportunity. These photos are great, but then your "Sweetie" takes great photos!

Thanks, Vicki and Susan. Wouldn't that photo make a good Valentine's card - or anniversary card?
Susan, I don't think Jerry's camera has a setting for fireworks - he just knows how to set it for whatever he's working on from years of shooting. He did take some from the t.v. the other night and when he gets them uploaded, I'll share. (Have a great trip and workshop!)
