From an online demo…can’t recall who or where and it looks nothing like the painting the artist did but it was fun playing. Went in after I figured it was finished but it wasn’t working so…more changes. All monotone and looking like winter coming…not too soon, I hope!

Rhonda great job with the blues. Does have the feel of winter. Like you am in no hurry for the cold. Your milkweed pods are delightful. What a great challenging subject. Have never seen pitcher plants before. Are they a native plant to Kentucky? Have a super day. Hugs!
Thanks, Debbie. I have seen pitcher plants but not growing wild here - only in pots in the extension center garden. I did see a lot for sale in Florida one year - interesting plants that hung down with the opening at the bottom. I did a painting - maybe I can find it.
def feel colder looking at that and it is def getting colder outside here (and really windy)
Thanks, Jennifer. Just playing with monotones and we’re having beautiful weather right now - not hot, and not cold but a nice crisp feeling - fall is near but no leaves turning yet.
I like how you've used a blue gray in the foreground and a softer, warmer one in the background. such nice shapes too
Thanks, Laura. The demo (from Daniel Smith YouTube with Anders Andersson, I think) used just one color but I did my own thing and even added gouache on the icy water part to get the look of it. He, of course, made it look great in one pass with a single color!
