Starting to pop the reds on the hibiscus flower the little lizard is peeking from. Will finish working the flower and then start on the lizard - in Quin Burnt Orange and brownish-orange colors. We'll see!

Love how your reds are flowing, Rhonda! This piece is looking amazing already.
We got about the same amount of snow here on Tuesday and a few flurries on Wednesday as well. All melted already though. I did have to scrape ice and snow from my windows when I got out of school on Tuesday evening though.
This is beautiful so far, and Quin burnt orange is one of my favorites! I am suddenly impressed as I realize you have posted a partially painted artwork with a finished title!
The background is fabulous. What did you use there? Or have I missed a post where you described that process?

Katherine, I got the title as soon as I began the painting - he's peeking out of the flower so...
The background is 2 colors - Hansa Yellow Light + Prussian Blue put down very wet and juicy and dark towards the flower...then dropped in regular table salt and a little popcorn salt to get the texture.

Wonderful contrast colors, Rhonda. I like it. Feels like the lizard will be colorful and maybe with different geometric patterns on his skin :) just my guess..
