It's still wet (which is why the magnolia looks a bit wavey).
I think it's finished. Just had a few areas to adjust and change and soften.
This one is not finished.
I think this is going to be a WIP for a while. I went in with Caran d'Ache watercolor crayons this time and tried to pull out some features and fix the guitar and hands.

It may still need work so I'll put it aside and go back to it again in a few days or weeks.

Rhonda, your magnolia is GORGEOUS! One of your best paintings yet! The guitar man is looking good too. Now, somehow I've missed your two previous
posts. I love the delicate froggy. Also, I'm sending you healing thoughts and good wishes for your spine/neck/headache situation.
The magnolia is a sure winner with its wonderful rich colors!
You wrapped that petal by putting in the darker line inside it. Maybe just a touch darker on the green leaf on the left side where it goes behind the flower, or possibly a subtle softening of the white along the left side there and a touch on top? But not if it would ruin the colors and glow you have going! Hope your headaches are lessening.
Love the magnolia! Beautiful colors. I don't know anything about painting people so I will just watch and learn.

The magnolia could be my favorite painting of yours. And what depth you are showing with two completely different paintings/themes. I love the funky, fun feel of this player!
Two such different paintings. A majestic magnolia.
The magnolia piece looks great.
I have to agree with jgr. That magnolia is indeed amazing and the palette is sublime. Excellent job on the guitar player too!
Thanks so much, Jane, Christiane, Deb, Vicki, Pam, Hallie, Tim and Autumn for these wonderful comments!! Made me smile.
Deb, I'll look at your suggestions and see if I can do that (or will do that - at this point I want to move on to something else and don't have your patience).
Hi Rhonda - I haven't been following blogs for a while, but I just went through all your froggie posts!! What fun!!
Your magnolia caught my eye as I was looking through your posts -- it's a wonderful painting -- love the forms and the color gradations.
Thanks, Chris. Glad you got time to visit the froggies :)
love the magnolia rhonda
Thanks, Jane. It turned out well and I enjoyed the wet-in-wet on this one.
