Whenever I don't feel like painting or answering emails and just want to view something pretty, I go through my blogroll. Then I go through my favorites on my computer and see if I have some new ones there that I haven't been following. So many wonderful artists out there!!! So today while the snow and ice are melting and my painting is waiting for me to return, I have added some more artists to my blogroll. Some I know and are old friends - some are new that I have discovered from other artists' blogs. All are worth viewing.
I always wonder if someone I've always checked on stops posting for weeks at a time and hope they are just off somewhere enjoying life. But after a month or so, I do drop them from the roll (afterall, I have so many!!!)
Hope if you have time on your hands, you'll check out the people listed - I have watercolorists, acrylic and oil painters, photographers and even bakers!
Do I have too many? Should I limit it to a good dozen or a lucky thirteen and let the others go?

Since I'm new to this blogging thing I always wonder that - is there a limit to how many I should have.
So far I don't think there is - I know I really appreciate when other people, especially artists, have a lot of quality blogs listed in their blog rolls - that's where I find most of the ones that I read.
Artists whose work and blogs that I enjoy seem to be a pretty reliable source of other blogs that I will also enjoy.
So I appreciate it anyway.
:)
Rhonda,
PLEASE!!! Don't delete me from your blogsroll just because I am not commenting ever week (or month!) I seriously think I am contributing to my blog every other week, at least, but it gets really difficult without opportunities for photos or paintings to keep up. So...here I am, begging for your support. I agree, though, those who do not contribute to their blogs on a fairly regular basis, do get dropped so I do understand.
I sure agree with you Rhonda - there are so many interesting blogs out there but we cant put them all into our favourites, so I do a similar thing to you and occasionally click on bloggers who have commented in mine and then at random check out artists they have links to - usually choosing by the interesting blog titles. Its great fun and wonderful to find a new blogger that makes you go 'aaawweeee' at their stunning work and add to your ever growing list.
Thanks, ladies, for your comments on this one. I hate to drop anyone, especially when they've been one I check on all the time. Susan - I know you have life getting in your way right now and I don't intend to drop you from my list :)
I so enjoy finding new artists through other blogs.
I am worried about Nava, though. I always enjoyed her blog and she commented on this one regularly and no word or posting for over a month!
Rhonda I too have quite a few names on my blog list and like you I will go through and remove someone that hasn't posted in 6-8 weeks (if it is someone that I really like their work and they have a website I will put a link on my website list so that I can check back with them later). I enjoy the blog list and look for new ones on other artists blogs so keep them coming. Oh by the way Susan, you are a permanent link on my blog too.
Hi Rhonda, the more artists on the blog roll the better for me. I enjoy looking at all of the wonderful artwork (yours included).
I enjoy the odd blog-browsing hour or two, or three!..so love to find new blogs on Blog Rolls (I'll be looking through yours soon:). It's hard to delete them - you never know if somebody's going through a difficult patch and will be back. I'm trying to edit mine down a bit - but its hard!
I see you haven't given up on me yet :-)
Thanks for your email.
I wish I could leave every blog up that I find - but it would take too much space and people get bored with them, maybe. I do think the blogroll that lists when they post new work is a great idea from Google - that way you check out the first few when you have time and are seeing new stuff :)
Cathy G, I am loving your sketches and I love seeing work from people in another part of the world :)
Nava, I was worried about you - so did some snooping and checking! ha ha You can't get away that easily!
