Little wren
upon a limb.

cold and blustery day.

You have really captured the birds looking bedraggled due to wind and rain.
Yes, names are fascinating, colours and names often mismatch.
These two always make me smile...Elephant's Breathe and Mouse's back (farrow & ball house paints). It makes a good game thinking names.
Have a good Weekend.

Rhonda your sketches of the birds are so fresh. You have done a great job capturing them in movement. Caught up on your previous post on great as granulating colours. Yes it is a good question how they arrive at particular names. Have a great weekend. Hugs!

Thanks, Debbie :).

Love the birds! Your colors are so strong, and the painting done so loosely and effectively with few strokes!

Thanks, Laura. If I consider something just a "study" or practice, I don't get too tight with my painting for some reason! Our mental state does make a difference - which is why I may feel unable to paint portraits (there comes a time, when finishing up, that I tighten up and ruin it!!).
