A few hake brushes I have, but rarely use. One was sent to me from Vancouver Island, British Columbia, by a dear painting friend years ago. He made magic with the small hake brush in the middle and a small palette and homemade pochade box he took out to the beach for his plein air paintings. The magic wasn’t in the brush, but in him, I found, when I tried to use the same brush he used :). RIP, Mohan.

we use these in pottery, there is nothing better than a good brush, I use goat's hare brushes for glazing too and I like them a lot
ReplyDeleteI had no idea potters used hanke brushes - visited your site and I am in awe of all your beautiful work. I admire pottery of all kinds but could never do it as I hate getting my hand really messy because I am really messy even with watercolor, somehow getting paint up my arms all the time! ha ha.
ReplyDeleteI always like paintings of art supplies!
ReplyDeleteI like art supply paintings, too, Laura. Something about seeing an artist paint their brushes or pigments/palettes is very appealing.
