LACK OF FOCUS?





Lack of focus?
(Anniversary card for Sweetie!)









Or just trying out the new paper I got (Strathmore 400 series mixed media)?
Fluid acrylics on the 400 series paper.  (Not great - not even good, but I would need more experience with the acrylics to get better.)










This one is better, but I just sponged on the top shape of the tree in 3-4 colors.  












Perhaps I need to stick with the birds?  Okay, more of them later...

    the trees look good
    its probably the paper that is the problem, cant stand Strathmore paper even though a lot of people do like it I have never gotten along with it lol

    Thanks, Elizabeth. I sometimes feel I’m cheating with painting in acrylic because I don’t paint like I do in watercolor but use tools (sponges, alcohol to remove areas, etc.), but it’s all creating so not sure why I feel that way. Perhaps it’s just a lack of experience with the medium of acrylics in all their forms?

    Thanks so much for the comments, Chris, Debbie and Jennifer Rose :) It's a new mixed media paper and I thought I'd try it. Some Strathmore is okay and some is not so just exploring again...
