Another rose done without drawing, just painting the shapes and then trying to get them all to come together with the background. I had to add some Chinese White to soften some hard lines I couldn't soften any other way.
And did another version of the Rough Seas painting after wiping off the oil pastel with Natural Turpenoid (nonflammable, nontoxic, according to the can).

Just got lucky, Carol, with the painting without drawing - or maybe I'm at a stage where I can slow down, look, and do it - but it's not my usual way of painting!
Hello Rhonda! Your rose is absolutely divine, and all the more impressive for having painted without any preliminary drawing. I have been doing ink sketches in the same way and it's a lot of fun. Love your blog - you've got a great style!
