SKETCHING IN A SMALL SKETCHBOOK
Just a few sketches in my small sketchbook using graphite and my blue Prismacolor Col-Erase pencil for some color, as well as sepia and brown Pitt Pens.
Getting a bit abstract-y after doing a few spring-themed sketches.
First of all I like your new header and your crow print too.
ReplyDeleteI see you have lots of new art materials, they do inspire you and each time I visit I love seeing all your new ideas and resulting work. I like how you try new things.
I have a workshop with myself, a day each week, a time to just experiment and play, maybe printing, ink , dyeing fabric, last week with tea. It always ends in lots of mess, but ideas come flooding into my mind. I enjoy myself playing. Does that happen to you too ? I often have happy mistakes, discover things by mixing up different products. I also started a doodle book., draw whatever comes into my head.
Have a good Weekend, keep creating, I like the way you work. Milly
This is so wonderful, Rhonda. I love that you use your sketchbook and I love the whimsy of the bunny and the palette. So nice. You bring hope and freshness to my morning.
ReplyDeleteI don't know about you, but my best work appears in my sketchbook. I think because it is so spontaneous; not over thinking everything. I never seem to be able to get that freshness in the finished piece.
ReplyDeleteLike Milly said, I love your new header!
Good morning Rhonda!...As you have presented here.... using your sketchbook and imagination:
ReplyDelete"Repetition... is the mother of study"... and growth as an emerging artist!
Good Painting!... and Hoppy Easter!
Warmest regards,
Bruce
Thanks, Milly :) I am inspired and usually have a few days of just trying this and that, using guidelines from others or just saying, "What if I...?" to get to something else. It keeps me fresh when I bog down and then I take a break and play - you can't have more fun than playing with new art materials! Have a wonderful, creative spring!
ReplyDeleteSherry, thank you so much - I wish I could have you come and spend a day painting or printing or something...someday! Take care and have a good weekend - spring will be here soon and we'll all feel more energized and uplifted.
EM, yes, I often have a looseness in my sketchbooks that get too tight and precious in my paintings! I guess that's our human nature.
Bruce, and a Hoppy Easter to you - hope the Easter bunny brings you something good :)
Dear Rhonda - Thanks for sharing your sketches...your bunny is so fitting for this time of the year. Right now I have some real ones running to and fro...maybe I get a quick sketch in as well (if they stay still-lol)! Hugs
ReplyDeleteThanks, Debbie. I haven't seen any bunnies yet this year but I know they'll be around soon - so cute to look out and see one in the yard, munching away :)
