The flower is SOOO lovely, loose, and yet still accurate (I can NEVER achieve that - once I loosen up, it's WRONG). But, for my sensibilities, the lime background does seem to overpower the blossom. I'd be interested to see a computer simulation where you had darkened the background to a deep blue or green, perhaps?
Hi Rhonda, Not too much lime, just a ton of talent! This is one heck of a beautiful painting. If I were you, I'd enter this beaut in all the upcoming shows. Have a great week. Sincerely, Gary.
WOW, you all really know how to make a girl (ha ha) feel good!! I'm glad so many really like it. I am going to be working more wet-in-wet. I've decided that it's not my "natural" way of hitting the paper but it's the way I love and I can retrain myself just like training in drawing (which I am still doing) and anything else. Perhaps you can train an old dog some new tricks? Thanks so much, everyone!!!
I LOVE this, Rhonda!!! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLooks to me like you achieved what you intended! This is so purely watercolory, just lovely!

This does pop--and I like it.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I don't think it's too lime. Sparkling with light and life, emphasizing the contrast.
ReplyDeleteI think it worked beautifully. It has intensity that holds your gaze. A winner definately, don't change a thing!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful, Rhonda! Great background color!
ReplyDeleteThis works for me
