WORKING IN A SERIES

Well, it's official:  I'm working in a series! ha ha  I guess after you've painted 1/2 dozen pear paintings, you have to admit it :)






This simple, traditional painting (left)



has become this less traditional painting (below),

incorporating scraps of paper torn from a note from a friend in Spain. 




I like it and think it's more interesting now.

So how may pear paintings does it take to make a series?

1.  Pear Series:  Hot Enough For Ya?  (Can't show it because it's sold and the photo is not on this computer right now.)

4.  Pear Series: A Letter from my Friend











5.  And one more in the making - you'll have to wait for that one :)


Five - it takes at least 5 paintings to make a series! hah

    I think I'm in the same category.
    Pears, Pears, Pears, even did a small watercolor book.
    We are ""Pear People"?
    Love your mixed media, Text added to paintings are the best..

    Yes, Sadami, pears do have personalities - hopefully, I can demonstrate that in some paintings.

    Barbra Joan, sorry about the word verfication - some of them are so hard to read, I think it's not my eyes but their sadism!! It's always fun to paint pears - they are so colorful, round, different shapes, different compositions, etc.

    Thanks, Sherry. The words were just synchronicity - I saw a letter from a friend and knew the pears needed something and well, just had to try it - I was glad the ink on the letter smeared a bit to soften the words :)

    5 seems like the magic number. And it sneaks up on you - you really don't realize what you've done until you sit them all up in the living room and suddenly say to yourself: "oh my gosh, I've just painted 5 ___ - I've got a series going!" Good work!!!

    Deb, I know you intentionally paint in a series - but there is something in me that digs in my heals and says, "No, way!" to that - until I find I've done it! ha ha
