A DIFFERENCE OF OPINION

Another crow painting.  Calling this one A Difference of Opinion.  It's 21" x 21" on Arches 140# watercolor paper.

Started with a pale wash of Cobalt Turquoise mixed with Cobalt Blue towards the bottom.  Then splattered some Bismuth Yellow and water at the bottom to look like grasses.  I masked off some areas on the crows that will be violet, turquoise green and blue later.

  1. Whoah, this one stopped me in my tracks. I like it a lot and I simply cannot believe the artistic growth you have experience in the short time I have known you. Wow!

  2. Coming along nicely, Rhonda. I hope that's last years beach photo and not one you took recently. I'd be jealous of all that warm weather.

  4. Looking very good, Rhonda. I like the simplistic look which is not always easy to achieve.

  5. Thanks so much, Mary Beth!

Thanks, Carol. That is me just last week on the beach :) Warm weather, sunshine, lovely beaches - not much not to envy there and not sure why we don't just move there! ha ha

Thanks, Christiane! I like that pale blue-green, too.

  6. Thanks, Ann. No, not easy to not go overboard so I'm going to try to leave that bottom the way it is and just focus on the crows now.

  8. Maggie, that is such a compliment, considering the artists in that group!! Maybe when you do another?? Unfortunately, I couldn't leave well enough alone (do I ever?) and it doesn't look the same but I think it's still okay - just thought the bottom was a bit pale compared to how dark the crows will be...we'll see with the next posting if I went too far or just right :)
