RED FACED + TWEETS

A touch more on the Red Faced painting of the Japanese Macaque by modeling the face a bit more.  I think it still needs some softening around the face blending in to the hair and then it will be done.

I put in the background for the Tweets and will finish that by softening around the edges of their bodies, too - and putting in the the eyes, of course.

It's been such a busy month and April doesn't look any less busy.  I don't like being busy.  That's why I'm retired!  But sometimes life happens.

  1. That pink face is sooo engaging. I've been enjoying the tweets too. The eyes will really set everything off. Neat subjects!

  2. Thanks, Bill. I like seeing these guys and girls in the sauna-like pools in Japan (on t.v. since I've never seen them in person) while the snow is falling - quite a picture!

  3. That's an incredible painting ...such an unusual subject, the fur looks really fluffy , soft and "furry", great job.

  4. Ah, the Macaque--he brought George Allen's 06 VA Senate run to an end. I didn't know what they looked like; I like this one.

I enjoyed your previous post, "the ugly part." That's where I am with the painting on my easel.

  5. You nailed the fur on that Japanese Macaque Rhonda - beautiful, and his red face sets it off perfectly. Life is happening here too - too busy!

  6. These are two engaging and striking pieces, Rhonda1 Wow! I love the fur on the Macaque and the softening of the bkg around the birds has really made the feathers....well feathery :)

  7. Thanks, Jane. I was pleased with how loose and unfinished I could leave part of the fur.

    LOL, Hallie!

Thanks, Cathy and Pam. Pam, I have softened the feathers a bit more and put in the eyes - need to post that version and then I'll quit boring everyone with these two - seems like I've really been piddling with them for days :)

Ann, I hope no problems with anything and I'm not thinking there will be - I'm more worried about the cholesterol testing and what he'll say! ha ha
