ANOTHER PORTRAIT

Working on another portrait while working on the painting of A Dancer so I won't overwork it.  This is the start of this one.  She's standing in front of a tree outside and I hope to get the shadows right.

  1. Hi Rhonda,
If I were you, I wouldn't touch her face with so much as another drop of paint! Mess with anything else, but I swear you've nailed her face and, in my humble opinion, should let it alone.
And, by the way...I'm re-working your portrait. Just couldn't stand the icky goo all over the original. I'm still doing my best to express the melancholy, but in a more painterly way. At least that's my goal!
    Sincerely,
    Gary.

  4. Gary, but she needs eyes, yes? ha ha I will leave it and see what happens when I do the eyes and maybe some bg and clothes instead. I'll be looking forward to seeing what you do with the Blue girl :)

    Linda, thanks!

Carol, if I let my fear of messing up keep me from trying, I'll never learn how to do them so I just keep plugging away.

    Thanks, Ann!

  5. She is looking lovely so far Rhonda.... I know that feeling of "If I add one more thing to it I might mess it up" I suggest also to put it aside and look at it again later with fresh eyes! Best of luck!

  8. Thanks, Debbie. I didn't intend to put it aside but was lazy today so no painting.

    Thanks, Jane!

Teresa, she loves the camera and it loves her! Yes, that's Lunar Black - love the granulation and separation :)
