I like the start of this but not sure where I'm going with it...sometimes the painting just leads you so I'm waiting for it to do that. I may miskit over the birds, as they are, and then go a bit crazy with the drizzles to make them more distinct?
As I was posting this, I heard a crow cawing outside my window - does that mean he agrees with that option or not?
Rhonda, even when you're feeling 'crook', you are so productive and creative. This is looking wonderful, I hope you have a crow exhibition when you've got to the end (if there is one!) of this great series. Also hope your back is feeling much better.

ReplyDeleteThanks, Cathy - I definitely was feeling "crook" - esp. in my back! ha ha Getting better every day now. Exhibition/show = probably just a showing of them all on the blog when they finally fly away from my imagination :)
ReplyDeleteVicki, yes, it's the same drawing I had of the two in my "And Your Point Is...?" painting a while back. Need to find more reference photos of crows. I am drawn to drizzles and always like them in paintings I see but don't use them often. It may be a learning process to get it right.

ReplyDeleteI love the drizzled background. In this painting or in the next one, you could always experiment with the addition of a second color in the drizzle...
I agree with Cathy: a Crow Show is a great idea!
It has a dreamlike, mystical quality, Rhonda. It reminds me of a ghostly forest in the background. I love wet in wet effects - pure serendipity!

ReplyDeleteLove the crows and the drizzle has the makings of a waterfall through my eyes, with the crows on the edge of the ravine, daring each other to go first.
I will wait and see where the storyline goes next.
i'm almost seeing some fun trees in the drizzle.... i think the crow you heard, wants to come in and play with his friends... caw caw..

I just never learn and as my grandmother used to say, "Them don't listen has to feel." That's a Kentucky saying so there are words left out (Kentuckians are economical with words, blurring the boundaries a lot). I'm glad you are liking the drizzles - we'll see what they become but, for me, I was seeing misty trees far in the background.
