I added more to the watercolor and collage of the cordyline. Not sure what else it needs to I'll let it sit for a day or so and go back to it and look with fresh eyes.
Working on the watercolor and collage made me want to go back to the 1/4 sheet watercolor I left unfinished and try to finish it up. I think it's done. But will let it sit a day or two, also, and see if I think it needs more work. I don't want the background to be dark throughout but I do want some darks there...don't know why greens are so difficult for me.
Which one do you like the best?
Love the new one, Rhonda. It reminds me of a flower all dressed up in it's finest for the ball. I liked the old version, too, though.

ReplyDeleteYou amaze me – where do you get the energy and time to do all that you do? And I love that you are so willing to try different things. Have you tried this one on Yupo yet (ha, ha!) And thanks for keeping me on your blog list – I promise to blog more, even though I’m still struggling with slow internet, even with the wireless card. (My last post to my blog took a mere 45 minutes!) And then I wonder why I have no time to paint!

I like the first one because it has such a feeling of movement. I like the second one because it has an understated elegance and lovely rich tones. My preference is the second although I like them both!
ReplyDeleteYour creative muse is on the loose! Way to go. I do love the collage a bunch. How about some dark, tiny ruby colored specks near the center where all the leaves come together? Or? Very intriguing. The watercolor is looking much better - nice improvements:-D
ReplyDeleteI don't think I could choose between these two versions, they both work well. This is a striking flower/plant and both the collage and watercolor show that off well. The colors are more vivid in the watercolor though, so I'll lean that way.

Hi, Deb! I understand the slow internet thing - I'm so glad we have the DSL not dial-up. Maybe choose one day only a week to work on the blog - the rest of the time, paint! I do get in moods where I need to finish things :)
