BLUEJAY ON A POSTCARD

Using a postcard, gouache and colored pencil, I made this little bluejay flying - it's going to be flying to a friend soon.

I started another (I'm now using postcards I've collected and never sent).  One tip:  When putting on colored pencil over gouache, make sure the gouache is dry.  I didn't do that and the colored pencil just lifted the gouache and some of the postcard off :(  Oh, well, start over.

I think it's time to put a little bee on a postcard, don't you?

Goods Saturday afternoon Rhonda!... Nice variations of color and form.... 'as the crow flies"!!

Did you know that Cotman and Strathmore have blank postcard formats in 4x6 inch block watercolor 140 watercolor paper??? I use them lot when I am travelling.

Enjoying seeing the birds on your post... and out or window into the yard and on to the river. A grand spring spectacle and rebirth... right before our eyes!

Good Painting... and rich blessings!
Bruce

PS ... and by the way... Keep an eye on your mail box! Stay tuned...

Thanks so much, Jennifer Rose, Asit and Bruce :). I appreciate the comments. Bruce, look for something coming your way, too, in the next week or so - and I did see the blank postcards at one time but haven't seen any lately...might be worth looking into again and buy a pack or two for future birds and bees and other things :)

If anyone wants one of my little postcards, just let me know - I would be. happy to slip one into an envelope and send it to you (you'll have to send me your mailing address to my gmail account!).
