FLOWERS FRUIT COFFEE

Started the painting, after the initial planning stages, with the flowers, then the vase.

(I know that looks like a big hat in the upper right but it will be a velvet chair behind a table when I'm done.)

So far, trying to stay focussed on
Color
Shape
Composition
Value and
Imagination!

A lot of think about all at one time - whew!

Shadow Violet very very wet (over granulating medium brushed over the paper behind the flowers and "on" the table surface) so it separates into the three colors but is, mainly, violet.

The other side a window shape cut out of a magazine - lots of water and secondary color dropped into the primary color.  The "black" line down the paper cut around the coffee pot and cup and right through the far left green apple.

Hope you're enjoying this new venture for me!  I seem to be a bit obsessed right now :)

Yes, Rhona, it does seem you have an obsession, but it is a very healthy obsession.
I am really enjoying your new venture, and look forward to your next post!!

Really coming along beautifully!
And I love your new (to me!) banner painting--that glowing yellow-green reminds me of the Carol Carter workshop!

Thanks so much, Debbie, Chris and Laura (Laura, that is ala Carol Carter with the sap green and glow + shadow violet all around the background although the photo looks duller than the real thing - which is on my wall in the kitchen).

Wow! I have been away from the blogosphere for a couple of weeks and come back to this wonderful adventure that you are having. You have certainly been very busy and I can see I have much to catch up on.

I am a fan of Shirley Trevena but I love the way this is developing into and metamorphosing into pure 'Rhonda Carpenter'!!! Off now for a whirlwind catch up of posts... woohoo!
