THE FIDDLY BITS

This one is now at the stage where I just have to work on the fiddly bits = the feathers need better shaping on the squawker bird and it'll be done.

Calling this one:  You Never Listen to Me!
It's half sheet (15 x 22 inches) on 140# coldpress

I may not be painting for a while.  The crew arrived an hour early this morning to begin work on tearing down and then building a new wooden deck around the above-ground pool in the back.  It's supposed to take 3 days.  It makes me too nervous to focus on much of anything.  I keep getting up to look out to see what THAT noise was, then look to see where the workers are when I hear nothing at all.  Should I move my car, should I go out to take photos of the progress - and so on and so on.  Just call me Mrs. Monk ("cause it's a jungle out there...").

Dear Rhonda - this painting is going to be a winner. As for being "Mrs. Monk"...I get it friend. I would be doing the same thing. Have a great week. Hugs!

What a fabulous painting. And the title is excellent. I know what you mean about the workers outside. Stress!!!! But the deck will be great when it's done. Good luck.

Love this Rhonda, especially the colors. Fantastic work, and it is work even though I was just told painting isn't a real job!

Love the work and the title is so apt. Fabulous.

the title is great :)

I'd be taking video lol to make sure things were done right, too many construction people cut corners when no one is looking :/

They are definitely birds with character. I can almost hear them squawking.

It is distracting having work done on a house. I find I cannot concentrate either. I usually save my trips away for when work is planned so can come back and its all done.

I feel for you the noise from building can wreak havoc with concentration. It will be starting here next week too as a neighbor has an extension built. I may have to go out sketching more.... The birds are coming along well and I love the title!

Thanks so much for your supportive and wonderful comments on this one, Debbie, Carol, Elizabeth (um, not a real job??? what does that mean???)!

Thanks, Asit and Jennifer Rose, Jeanette and Lisa :) I appreciate you all stopping by to comment and check out what I am trying to do. A quiet person really gets stressed over noise - isn't it odd? I know there are some people who can't stand quiet!

Oh, boy. I'm about to go through something similar: Starting tomorrow, getting a new roof. One part, where it's been leaking, apparently for some time, has to be torn off to the rafters! 3-4 day job!
