SOMETIMES STOPPING DOESN'T HELP

Remember this one?

I asked what colors to add to that final popcicle and got mostly comments on my Facebook page to use purple.

So that's what I did.

But I wasn't crazy about and and then I went in with the shadows and made ugly shadow shapes.  UGH!

So I used a strong spray bottle and washed as much of the color off as I could.

Then it had to sit and dry before I could go back and try to "fix" it.

I reapplied the paint, changed the napkin color a bit and cut it down a lot.

Not great, but it is what it is.

Hi Rhonda, the ice lollies look very realistic I can feel the cold coming off them! the purple colour is unusual we tend to get the other colours and haven't seen a purple one. I think you have done very well.

You did a great job "fixing" your popsicles. Sometimes I just put the whole thing under the faucet in the sink and hope for the best.

Personally, I like step 2. Looks both loose and very icy with frost forming on the popsicles. Maybe with a little work on the sticks and the napkin. I know you've gone beyond that step, and three is nice, too, but not as cold looking.

Thanks, Sadami, Caroline and Carol :). As I said, it is what it is. I am not sure what I was looking for, perhaps a more wet look...I'll try this again and maybe have less or change the composition.

Dear Rhonda I Luke how you fixed this. Actually I think purple is such a difficult hue to work with...it always seems to get muddy for me. Not you though just lovely. Glad you are back. Hope you had a good break.

the closer crop works a lot better here :)

Thanks so much, Jane (your comment came in after I replied to the previious comments so didn't catch it in time - but I agree with you - the washed out version looked more icy!!).

Thanks, Debbie and Jennifer Rose - Debbie, purple is hard to look right and I went to the grocery to check the grape popcicles and they look more red than this so...thinking about doing another and playing with the composition.

great job of how you tackled and resolved the lollipops, shadows and background! Thanks for sharing the process!
