SPRING IMAGININGS TWO

Another small landscape from a few reference photos combined to help me get started.  This one is on Arches 140# rough from a 7 x 10 inch block.

My inclination is to go back in and "finish" this one - but I'm not going to do that.  Going to leave them as I leave them and let them be whatever they are.

Dear Rhonda - I can see that the rough watercolor paper gives more texture to the scene. Love both of your landscape paintings and would find it hard to say which one I prefer. Hope you have a great week-end.

Love the plumes, the simplistic approach and the depth. Fabulous.

I do like doing landscapes with rough paper to add that texture and sparkle where the brush dances over the paper, leaving some good whites :) Sometimes the right paper is a good choice.

AK, thanks so much. I'm trying to simplify but it's not always easy for me to not fiddle with the paint!

I like the loose style of this little landscape Rhonda, there is some magic which is often the case when we let wc do its thing. I interrupt it too frequently

Wow, Rhonda! I think this is my favorite of all your paintings to date. The palette is exquisite and I love the looseness of this landscape!

This is just beautiful RH. Glad you're going to leave it as it is; soft and sparkly!

Thanks, Carol, I am doing these quick and trying to keep it clean and fresh - no overworking (I hope!!).

Wonderful! The runbacks are so suggestive ... like a marsh at high tide (or something!).
Good on you for not going back over!
