IN LOVE WITH AN ELEGANT LINE

This one is finished.  I'm fairly pleased with it.  I did use some Caran d'Ache watercolor crayons in places to get some deeper color and some texture.

In Love with an Elegant Line

11 x 15 inches on Fabriano Artistico 140# watercolor paper, coated with gold gesso

And just in case you're tired of seeing snow...we're under another winter weather advisory until 10 am this morning = a bit of snow, a bit of sleet and freezing rain before turning to rain when it finally gets above 32F.  Happy March.

Right now, big, fluffy flakes coming down.  When I went out to fill the feeders this morning, I scared off a hawk that had been sitting on the deck railings.

We got snow yesterday too, though not tons of it. Freaking cold out there though! Even I...who loves the winter...is ready for the spring weather.

Simply beautiful. A bright spot on another gray, rainy, dreary morning. Thanks for that.

Dear Rhonda - this is wonderful. I am so enjoying your new works. Like you we are under lots more snow too. Hoping since March came in like a lion maybe it will go out like a lamb! Lets hope!

This is a really cool piece! I'm intrigued by the gold gesso? I've never heard of that! Your posts are always so informative, always something new to learn!

Thanks, Katherine. The gold gesso I have is from Daniel Smith but I imagine other companies make it - just like white gesso but in gold or other colors...would be interesting to try with colored pencil, maybe?
