HYDRANGEA ALMOST FINISHED

This one, on a full sheet of Arches 140# cold press watercolor paper, is almost done.

I need to work the centers and check the darks and lights in the petals.

Then on to the next full sheet and see what happens.

Lovely. I just now posted a photo of my real African violets - lighter in colour than these.

Beautiful Rhonda, would live to see this in context as a full sheet as it must look stunning

Hi Rhonda,
Man, you really have nailed the colors in this. It's elegant and quite stunning and if I were you, I'd put a very high price on it. In fact, if I'd done this, it would probably stay in our home! It's simply beautiful, Rhonda.
Enjoy your Sunday.
Sincerely,
Gary.

Your hydrangeas are always just so beautiful, Rhonda. I think that was one of the first paintings I ever saw on your blog and I still keep coming back for more! Thank you too for your wonderful comment. It made me feel so loved.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and comment, Dolores. My grandmother grew African violets and I always remember them in her windows at her house - she really had a green thumb and you must, too, because I always thought they were hard to keep thriving :)
Thanks, Deb, I know these are your faves every time I paint them :) This one is a bit more violet than the previous pale one I have hanging on my wall at home.
Thanks, Lorraine, it is full sheet and looks pretty good in person.
Gary, thanks :) These are popular and usually sell so we'll see where this one goes and if someone falls in love with it :)
Thanks, Sherry. I'm glad my words made you feel better - take care of yourself!!

Wow! This is SO gorgeous! I hope you're sending it to Viewpoint, or one of the other shows you mentioned?

I just LOVE your hydrangeas!

Thanks, Carol. They do seem to be favorites of those who see them and I enjoy painting them, too. I really love painting in those colors.
