GELLI PRINTING ON STRATHMORE WATERCOLOR CARDS

Got out my Gelli plate and some acrylic paints - using the Open Acrylics I have.

And made some prints on the Strathmore watercolor blank cards.

We have a lot of family birthdays this summer, so I'm making cards and having fun, using Open acrylics, regular Acrylics, stamps, direct painting, etc.

The Open Acrylics dry slowly, allowing you time to lift off paint and create designs without rushing.

Hope you are having a good weekend.

Not the first time I've heard the word gelli plates, but still no clue! LOL Looks like you are having a fabulous time!

Thanks, Sadami :) Have a great week to come!

Sherry - go here:
http://gelliarts.blogspot.com/
and you can find out more about the gelli plates (which are a premade gelatin plate so you don't have to make your own) you can use for small printmaking creations :) They have about 5 different sizes now. When I got mine, they only had 2, but they are catching on. Fun fun fun with acrylics and even watercolor sticks (regular watercolor is a bit too thin to do much unless you put it on thick out of the tube).

They do look like fun. I read all about them after seeing them on a blog, I was unable to buy one, sold out.
Did enjoy watching demonstrations on site.
Hope you make some exciting cards. I do like your crow painting.

Rhonda, love these. My gelli plate is still in it's original box! One of these days I'll have time to play (lol).

Thanks so much, Milly (your lastest blog post is fantastic!). Sorry you couldn't get one of these - I think some of the online art places sell them, now?

Maggie, hi! Mine stayed in the box for quite a while and it's been months since I've gotten it out to play!

Rhonda - this looks like such fun. I seen your response to Sherry - going to have to check this out. Hope you have a wonderful week creating. Thanks for sharing your creations.

Thanks, Debbie. I think you'll enjoy it and get a good size you can use on larger paper, if you want more than just small prints on cards, etc.

I ADORE my gelli plate and use it for cards too.
With my Liquitex or other regular acrylic paints I do add some "retarder" to the paint to help it stay nice and moist on the plate longer. For card making I also just use the cheaper small jars of acrylics you get a Michaels or WalMart. For something like cards it's just great and I love to decorate my mailing envelopes…you know those yellow things! They look great with gelli plate prints on them!!! Check out my blog http://ginnystiles.blogspot.com under heading "gelli plate prints". also check out Jane Davies for her great how to videos.

Thanks, Ginny, for the info :) I subscribe to the GelliArts blog and they have great videos and giveaways, too (I've never won but they usually have 200+ enter the contest each time! ha ha)
