ONE ROBIN, COMING UP - BUT WHERE IS SPRING?

Used my last sheet of Lanaquarelle 6 x 8 cold press watercolor paper for this little spring robin.  This guy was getting so FAT because he figured out how to eat from the suet feeder.  He'll need to go on a high protein (worms) diet this spring!

Has spring arrived in your area yet - or are you still having snow and cold?

Sinus pain and pressure still hanging on if I stop the sinus pills and ibuprofen - might have to break down and go to the allergist and see what's happening here.  DO NOT want to be ill when the Carol Carter workshop begins next week!

Hope your spring arrives and stays soon for you it is such a lovely time of the year. I am envious of you taking a CC workshop so hope you get that sinus issue under control. Love your little chubby Robin

You've captured it's spunk! I still see Robins around here. They should be gone by now. But then we are still cold. A few days to tease us but then back to the cold north wind.

Thanks, Lorraine, Caroline and Pam :) We have a lot of the robins around now and they are eating what's coming up in the yard instead of from the suet feeder. I'd never seen a robin eat at the suet feeder until this long winter. Wonder if that one will teach others?

I pulled out some full sheets of Lanaquarelle I had this weekend; it's 140lb but seems flimsy ... Will have to save it for quick studies.
We have robins AND snow here. Snowed last night--beautiful, wet, tree-limb-coating snow: it looked like a winter wonderland!

aw, what a sweet, if a bit chunky, robin. No spring here yet. It's still cold. :(

Laura, my Lanaquarelle was in a pad so it may be different. When I do anything larger, I just cut up Arches or Fabriano sheets.

Carol, he was getting fat as a ball, eating the suet cakes every day!

I am loving your blog and so envious you are at this workshop. I just love the pears and the orbs. You really have "got it". Thanks for all the help - no way I will get to a workshop as I live on an island off Spain! Can you tell me what you/Carol use for masking - you don't seem to get the hard edges. You may like this quote "All colours are friends of their neighbours but lovers of their opposites" Marc Chagall. Have fun with your painting and hope to hear from you.
