NEW YEAR 2014

Another year.
What an accomplishment!
I'm still here!!
And if you are reading this, then so are you!!!

Thanks for spending the last year with me.  Thanks for sharing your comments, and your artwork.

I don't make New Year's Resolutions.  It's too easy to go overboard and fail within the first month - or first week!!! ha ha

So.  Here is my goal for 2014:  Paint more birds.

I love birds.  I love watching birds.  I love the shapes and colors of birds.
And I don't paint them enough.

So for 2014 I am going to paint more birds.

In fact, I have a little goal for myself that may be challenging.  I will tell you about it when the goal has been reached, not before - no pressure :)

What do you want to accomplish this year?

I may have shared this photo before, but it's one of my favorites of the cards Sweetie (a.k.a. Jerry H. Carpenter) created for sale at Art on the Levee in Newport.
Plus it's one thing I do intend to do more of in 2014!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year Rhonda. Well done for getting your plans for the new year sorted so quickly. I'm busy working on mine at the moment and hope to have it worked out by the end of the day.

I'd love to spend at least 30 minutes per day to practice and draw...

Happy New Year Rhonda!

I have had a lovely time catching up on your blog over coffee (i too
would love my own barrista!-sp).

You are always so generous in sharing-not only in your own process & techniques but those of others. As well, i so appreciate the positive and beautifully worded comments you have taken the time and thought for me to pleasantly discover on my blog.

I am so pleased to read that you will be exploring more birds! I quite like your flamingos (you know how i love your crows!) and will be curious to see what you choose as subject matter...

I also want to let you know how struck I was by your self portrait drawings-WOW!!

Anyway all the best for 2014-glad you are my blogging friend!

Happy New Year to you too Rhonda, so glad to hear you are going to paint more birds as I love your series of crow paintings that are very individual. I am going to concentrate on painting trees for the year as this is something I have been really wanting to focus on for some time.

The very best new year Rhonda. I wish everything good for you.

Birds are wonderful to draw and paint. I use them as teaching tools for drawing in my workshops frequently as the shapes are simple to conquer.

Good luck with your challenge whatever it may be, I know it will test you and help you learn.

Thanks so much for the comments, Vandy. Since I only have one goal, I think I'll be okay! ha ha

Happy New Year to you, too, humbird, and thanks for the comment :)

Jan, I have a new Keurig and it's great - I am probably drinking too much coffee but it's cold out so that's my excuse. Thank you so much for your kind comments.

Thanks, Caroline and Deb (oh, I'm sure hydrangeas will show up some time), and Sadami :)

Thanks, Jeanette, Sherry, Pam and Kathryn. Here's hoping we all attain our goals in 2014 whether they are small, medium or large :)
