ANASAZI RUINS

I think this has more dimension now.  I like the vignetted style, leaving a lot of it white and fading off to white.

If you've never painted on gessoed paper, try it.  Just brush plain white gesso on regular watercolor paper (104# works fine), let it dry completely, and paint.  You can add texture in the form of letting the brushstrokes show on the gessoes paper, or make it smooth by rolling over the gesso, while it's still wet, with a sponge roller.  Your choice.

This is really lovely Rhonda...I like the vignette style very much. Glad to see you managed to survive the storm...it is to hit us in about 45 min. by the sounds of things...so far it is good. Take care and have a great week-end.

Thanks, Debbie. We've gone past the icing and sleet all morning into the snow, finally - coming down pretty fast and hard - our predictors are saying 4-7" by morning...we'll see.

Lovely and a nice vintage feel too (both color and subject lend to that sense). Like the tip about the sponge roller. I never manage to sand out the brush stroke lines when I watercolor over gesso.

Thanks, Sherry. Glad the tip about the roller helped.

Can't wait to see what you come up with, Kevin!
