IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO SAY...

Here is a link to an interesting post from Clint Watson over at FASO...
http://faso.com/fineartviews/65645/if-you-dont-have-anything-to-saydont

And here is a link to a link Clint shared by a blogger talking about the same thing...
http://karencooperpaintings.com/blog/48536/filling-up-the-space

Both of these bloggers are blogging and writing about people who blog and write when they have nothing new or exciting or intelligent to say.  Clint does say that sharing a new work does not count as wasting your time.

What do you think?

And why am I sharing this?
Because I didn't have a photo to share for One Word Wednesday and didn't want to spend time on the desktop computer looking for something to share.

Are you bored yet?

For me, I would be very sorry to see many bloggers go away.  I may not get over to your blog to read what you've shared every day (or every other day or once a week - whenever you post), and I may not have time or anything interesting to say in order to post a comment on your blog posts all the time - but if you were not part of my world, where would I discover a smile when I need it, support when I need help, a lovely piece of artwork to see from the comfort of my own chair, or the friendship I have grown from online friends?  So...keep on blogging on and don't think you have to have something earth shattering before putting your thoughts and your work out there.  (Now if we could only get out politicians to speak only when they have something important to say....!!)

I love your wit, Rhonda. You know this really isn't any different than those folks who find it necessary to correct other people's grammar. Everyone can't be perfect. (snicker)

Didn't read the links but your summary worked just fine for me. Here's the good part of being a free country. We can blog if we want to. Maybe it is a cathartic for someone to write even if they have no new art to post. Maybe it is a way for that blogger to keep in touch with friends and family? Maybe they just need someone to talk to but don't have real life friends. I know that my blogging is a place for me to lay down the crap going through my head at times. Ah well...hopefully those two do not follow my blog.

I'll admit, I will post something just for the sake of posting just so I won't have to keep seeing my old post sit there day after day. I think a lot of people feel this way. No one wants to see their blog languish in the "posted 2 months ago" pile unless they have so many other things going on that their blog is just an after thought. If I don't see a new post from you I wonder what is going on. I've come to expect it. No, I can't always get over here to look at it, but I still look for it...and sometimes I want to comment but don't have time.

LOL, Carol, I think you're right! I often go all day without speaking to another person - other than the usual chitchat with Sweetie about the day, dinner, etc. But I do miss blogging or reading blogs if I don't get to it several times a week.

Sherry, you had me laughing!! I hope they don't follow my blog, either - they would be bored and wonder what I'm doing most of the time!

Thanks, Lorraine :)

Kevin, I think it does seem a bit sad when bloggers are relegated to the bottom of the sidebar because it's been months since they posted. But I also understand that others have much busier lives than I do!! I enjoy reading your posts whenever you have time to do them. So thanks for painting and sharing in your very busy life.

What a great post Rhonda... I admit that sometimes I am scratching the barrel for a blog to post.....some of the time I get inspiration and other times not, but my blogs tend to be to be quite lengthy and even though I am quite "gobby" I find I can't actually blog about nothing!! So although I don't think I fall into the category I can't see what the problem is for those who choose to blog for the sake of it. Sometimes just starting to write about anything inspires a whole piece you may never have thought of... that's why my blogs are generally lengthy...once I start I can't always stop as ideas and thoughts just come flooding out!!

You may be right, Judith. We all have the ability to read, or not read, a lengthy post. Sometimes I find longer ones are good to read while having my morning cup of coffee and just getting ready for the day :)
