WHAT DID YOU GET?

Did you get any art supplies for Hanukkah, Christmas, or Kwanzaa?

I got a lovely watercolor book of Hazel Soan's work (The Essence of Watercolor) from my step-daughter, Moe!  I love it!

Ms. Soan loves watercolor and just reading about her enthusiasm about the medium makes me feel energized again and want to put brush and paint to paper!

My little artist grandgirl, Alaina, was happy with her new block of Arches paper, a new set of brushes (DaVinci Cosmotop Spin rounds) and her bamboo brush holder.  She said, "This is just like your's, grandma!"  We'll be planning a painting day soon.

We extend our celebrations to today, when my sister and BIL come over to visit, exchange presents, and play Monty Python's Monopoly game:  "Bring me some shrubberies!!"

Wonderful! For me, you can't go wrong with Monty Python! Have a great continued celebration :) I didn't get any direct art supplies but did receive a 'PaintCycle' :) Used it early this morning to make a small jaunt to paint the Long-Night Moon :)

Oh, dear, they forgot the game :( But we had plenty of time to talk, eat dinner together, share presents, and talk some more :)
Thanks, Lisa, Vandy (yes, I love Ms. Soan's work!), Kathryn, Sherry and Sadami :)

Oh lucky you Rhonda. I'm so glad to hear you are a "Soan geek" too. I've been lucky to have meet her twice and I was astounded by her generosity to freely share her knowledge both times. A lovely lady who produces wonderful work. I have no doubt you will enjoy her book. One I haven't got sadly so I'm envious. lol Best wishes for 2013. Take care. x

I have that book!...and I'm sure some of the watercolours in there were done in a Hazel Soan workshop I was lucky enough to attend a year or two ago. Such enthusiasm and knowledge she shares.
I've never heard of a Monty Python Monopoly game, must find it!

Laura, I have a couple of her books on my wish list and was glad to receive this one :) I have one of her DVDs, too. I love her enthusiasm for watercolor!
Thanks, Renate :)
Cathy, you'll have to search out the Python game!
